Sometimes an inside joke becomes a song and sometimes that very same song becomes an inside joke and sometimes you don't even know which came first. This is one such song.

Most of the time when I make a demo I'm basically hitting record and hoping for spontaneous inspiration to emerge from the audio ether. The bones/guts/additional anatomical metaphor of the song are always there at the start, but the hope is that something new emerges in the moment. That's what happened with the bridge on this one. It's almost like the demo itself becomes a silent writing partner, pushing another part or lyric to the surface that otherwise would have remained dormant if not for the simple act of forcing yourself to see a song through to its' conclusion. It's amazing what can happen when a machine shows up.
