My approach to writing music is kind of like how I write songs with Sealion. I come up with a catchy riff, let a melody float on top, and then the words come last. Writing in a pop-structure comes easily to me. I record the riff on my phone and play it over and over again until I can get a vocal part going. I like to try every variation I can come up with until one sticks, so it’s all trial-and-error from there. I just started using Garageband on my phone to help me focus isolating my parts and it pushes myself to fully execute a song. All of the chopped parts help piece together a decent blueprint for a potential song.

“See this man walking with flowers cross the street (don’t sleep)
I used to be able to walk alone here (but stick by me)
Have I been absent from your world
Removing myself like losing pearls
We never sleep…”
